A Sixty Five Year Old Tortoise Reunited With His Owner After An Adventure In Loughborough by Kate, year 8

Last week, a brave sixty five year old tortoise called Fred escaped from his home and went on an adventure around Loughborough!

This amazing little character managed to escape from a small hole in his garden fence, walk around the pavements and cross busy roads without being hit! For ten long hours Fred took a tour around Loughborough, and covered quite a distance with such little legs!

Fred was luckily spotted by a woman driving home from work. Finally, when Fred returned home, his owner was delighted to be greeted by him and was very thankful as she had been looking for hours. She said herself, " I would be lost without him, I have had him forty five years and I don't know what I would do if he was hurt!"

Fortunately, the hole in the garden fence has now been repaired, so I guess it's no more adventures for Fred.
